In addition to mediation and family law, Susan’s practice includes real estate and wills. As a result, she has special expertise to help couples create comprehensive solutions. Whether couples are separating or forming new relationships, home transactions and new estate plans must be properly addressed. Susan’s clients appreciate the “one stop” service that she provides.
Because of her considerable experience, Susan is able to take on the most complex mediations. However, she does not make a simple situation more complicated. While Susan will identify potential problems, she respects the arrangements that parties negotiate themselves.
Susan strives to make mediation cost effective by encouraging her clients to prepare their own financial disclosure. But when clients need help, Susan and her paralegal Anne are happy to assist.
Susan mediates separation agreements, co-owner agreements, cohabitation agreements, marriage contracts, and mutual will agreements.
Susan is a past president of the Ottawa Association for Family Mediation and a past president of Collaborative Divorce Ottawa. She regularly attends workshops and conferences to provide her clients with the most up-to-date legal information.
